    The antenna KVLY, with 628.8 m highis the highest existing antenna and the secondtallest structure in the world, behind the building Burj Khalifa in Dubai, which has 828m.            


  The KVLY-TV mast is a television transmitting tower located in North Dakota, USA, used by Channel 11 TV station KVLY-Fargo.



    The tower is located about 5 km west of BlanchardNorth Dakota (Lat 47 ° 20'32 "N, Long 97 ° 17'20W), which is approximately halfway between Fargo and Grand Forks.


    It was built in 1963 and was the tallest tower in the world until in 1974 built the TV towerin Warsaw, Poland, with 646mIn August 1991, the tower collapsed and the WarsawKVLY-TV once again became the structure supported by cables world's tallest.


    The tower was built by Hamilton Directors and Kline Iron and Steel, took thirty days to complete. The top of the tower is reached by an elevator or a ladder of service.

  The tower transmits at 316 kW for television station KVLY (channel 11an NBC affiliate)which is based in FargoThe tower provides a broadcast area of 30,000 square miles(78,000 km ²).

   Its height above sea level is 926 mSome time after its completion, the Federal Aviation Administration imposed a limit of 628mbased on the height of the tower, for future constructiontherefore no taller structure can legally be built in the United States.
