    This is a list of the highest mountains in the world by altitude above sea level. All lie in Asia. Only include the independent peaks.

1 - Mount Everest - 8848 meters
    Mount Everest is the tallest mountain in the world with 8.848 meters, is part of the Himalayas, located on the border between Nepal and China. It was first climbed in 1953.


2 - K2 - 8611 meters
    The K2 is the second highest mountain in the world with 8.611 meters, is part of the Karakoram Mountain Range, located on the border between Pakistan and China. It was first climbed in 1954.


3 - Kanchenjunga - 8586 meters
      Kanchenjunga is the third highest mountain in the world with 8.586 meters, is part of the Himalayas, located on the border between Nepal and India. It was first climbed in 1955.


4 - Lhotse - 8516 meters
    Lhotse is the fourth highest mountain in the world with 8.516 meters, is part of the Himalayas, located on the border between Nepal and China. It was first climbed in 1956.


5 - Makalu - 8485 meters
    Makalu is the fifth highest mountain in the world with 8.485 meters, is part of the Himalayas, located on the border between Nepal and China. It was first climbed in 1955.


6 - Cho Oyu - 8188 meters
    Cho Oyu is the sixth highest mountain in the world with 8.188 meters, is part of the Himalayas, located on the border between Nepal and China. It was first climbed in 1954.


7 - Dhaulagiri - 8167 meters
      Dhaulagiri is the seventh highest mountain in the world with 8.167 meters, is part of the Himalayas, located in Nepal. It was first climbed in 1960.


8 - Manaslu - 8163 meters
    Manaslu is the eighth highest mountain in the world with 8.163 meters, is part of the Himalayas, located in Nepal. It was first climbed in 1956.


9 - Nanga Parbat - 8125 meters
       Nanga Parbat is the ninth highest mountain in the world with 8.125 meters, is part of the Himalayas, located in Pakistan. It was first climbed in 1953.


10 - Annapurna I - 8091 meters
        Annapurna I is the tenth highest mountain in the world with 8.091 meters, is part of the Himalayas, located in Nepal. It was first climbed in 1950.
